Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Update for our customers & suppliers

    20 March 2020

    Dear customers and suppliers

Further to our recent statement on 13th March 2020 we wanted to take this opportunity to provide an update on our current activities and plans as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. There continues to be a lot of rapidly developing information and uncertainty relating to this situation, and Durbin has been following the guidance offered from the World Health Organisation (WHO), UK Chief Medical Officers and Public Health England.

Continuation of our services and ensuring that medicines reach patients without disruption remains our number one priority. Having said that, these are unchartered territories for everyone involved and there is a possibility thatthere could be an impact on our service levels.

Durbin’s current stance is that we are taking a position of ‘business as usual with caveats’ and that these caveats continue to evolve on a daily basis.

At a company level we have a formed an internal response team made up of cross-functional representation. This committee meets on a daily basis and reviews and assesses all external and internal implications. We agree on proactive communication activities and plans that are then shared on a regular basis.

At this stage we felt that it was also important to share with you our internal business continuity plans. These have been put in place to ensure that we are able to continue to function efficiently and effectively. Many of our office-based workforce (across all locations globally) will be working remotely. We have provided all the necessary equipment, network access and additional tools to ensure that our employees are able to carry on with their day to day activities without interruption. Our warehouses remain open and operational so we can continue to receive and dispatch products as usual. Durbin’s main telephone number will function as normal but we do advise to use email where possible while staff are working remotely.

Please be assured that we remain committed to ensuring that we maintain business continuity and full functionality as long as regional guidance and advice permits. We are continuously monitoring and reviewing all guidelines to ensure that the actions we take as an organisation are in line with these procedures and that we act in the best interests of all stakeholders.

We recognise that this is a difficult time for everyone but please be assured that we will take all reasonable actions to ensure that patients have access to medicines without disruption.
