    Brexit FAQs
What are your plans for Brexit?

Given the infrastructure of our new, combined organisation, we have the ability to maintain storage and supply within the EU and UK. Although a significant proportion of our business is in the EU, we also have a US operation that is providing products from the US to the rest of the world.

Can you confirm that you can legally sell goods to us in the event of a no-deal Brexit?

Yes we can – Durbin in the UK can still sell to any EEA country. Your local regulatory authority may clarify their position regarding UK nationally licensed products imported into your country, but there is no expected legal impediment to continued supply.

Can you confirm that you are able to cover any changes to import/export tariffs in the

The UK and the EEA both use the same Harmonised customs tariff system. There is no likelihood of any change in any customs tariff classification. All countries that currently use the Harmonised customs tariff system recognise pharmaceuticals as a medical necessity and do not impose customs duty on these products.

Will you be holding additional stock in the UK in preparation for a no-deal Brexit?

Yes. We can also supply some products from Ireland when we can’t supply from the UK. If you have a specific requirement, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can reach a mutually satisfactory agreement to hold stock for you.

How will the EMA and MHRA work together in the future?

There is a transition agreement already in place to ensure recognition of medicines in the EEA and the UK.

Will there be a longer lead time?

We do not anticipate delays and will choose freight routes to minimise the possibility of delays.

Will you be able to provide us with the needed documentation to obtain the import permit at the local regulatory authority in our region (Certificate of analysis or Batch release certificate)

The MHRA has stated that batch testing of medicines imported from the EEA will continue to be recognised in the UK. Your local regulatory authority may require further documentation which we will supply if available from UK manufacturers.
